Supporting the Clinical Trial Modernization Act

CHEST joined more than 100 major patient and health care professional groups to express support for the Clinical Trial Modernization Act, a bill that would help eliminate cost and geographic barriers to participation in clinical trials.

Among several policy improvements, the bill would encourage underrepresented groups to enroll in clinical trials by allowing the US Department of Health and Human Services to issue grants to support community education, outreach, and recruitment for trials, including grants to trusted messengers.
