CHEST launches publication focused on advocacy within health care
The inaugural issue of CHEST Advocates is available to readers

Glenview, IL – Focused entirely on advocacy within health care, the
American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) is launching CHEST
Advocates, a digital publication highlighting key and emerging issues
shared from a variety of diverse perspectives.
CHEST Advocates serves as an acknowledgment that policy is not enough
to create change. Action is required. The publication will feature
firsthand insights from clinicians advocating for improved patient
care, those impacted by health issues and organizations fighting for
better outcomes for their own communities. Actions that require
awareness and investment to make a change will be discussed.
The first issue of CHEST Advocates includes:
"For some, advocacy is the crux of practicing medicine. Whether it
is advocating for [their] patients, colleagues, community or
themselves, they find meaning through clinical care, process
improvement, writing grants, building programs, developing
partnerships, conducting research, writing op-eds and influencing

Advocates. "This publication was created to celebrate these
individuals, amplify their efforts and, hopefully, inspire others
to act."
