Expert faculty comprised of a pulmonologist, advanced nurse practitioner, thoracic surgeon, and radiation oncologist will discuss current guidelines and their own experiences with lung cancer screening and management of early-stage lung cancer. This interactive webinar will offer the opportunity for learners to ask questions prior to and during the event. Learning is augmented by a few follow-up quizzes weeks after the webinar, a strategy proven to improve knowledge gain and retention.

Course Objectives

At the end of this webinar, the learners will be able to:

Address current guidelines and best practices for lung cancer screening and tobacco treatment
Provide strategies for shared decision-making and decision support for lung cancer screening
Diagnose and manage patients with early NSCLC according to the latest NCCN, ASCO, ASTRO, IASLC, and CHEST guidelines

Physician Credit

The American College of Chest Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American College of Chest Physicians designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Credit

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 16433, for 1.25 contact hours.

Nurse Practitioners

The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Individuals are responsible for checking with the AANPCP for further guidelines.

Physician Assistants

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. PAs may receive a maximum of 1.25 Category 1 credits for completing this activity.

Maintenance of Certification Statement

Successful completion of this CME activity enables the participant to earn up to 1.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.

Upon successful completion of this course, CHEST will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points. Please allow 3-5 business days after claiming for points to be reflected on your ABIM record.
