Patients often receive multiple bursts of oral corticosteroids (OCS) for stable COPD without optimization of inhaled controller therapies. This case-based webinar will outline the appropriate role of systemic corticosteroids for COPD and associated risks/benefits, discuss barriers patients may face with taking their medications as prescribed, and identify strategies for downward titration and withdrawal of chronic use of OCS to avoid long-term consequences.
